Rap-Up.com || Janet Reunites with J.D. for New Album

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri may no longer be romantically involved, but that’s not stopping the former couple from rekindling their magic in the studio.

Producer-songwriter Bryan-Michael Cox revealed that he and J.D. are reteaming with the pop star for her next album, the first since 2008’s Discipline. “I’m producing Janet’s album with Jermaine and it’s going to be hot,” B. Cox told Rap-Up.com at Tricky Stewart’s pre-Grammy party last Friday. “That’s all I can say so far.”

His producing partner Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean also chimed in, adding, “Some great collabos on there,” but didn’t disclose further details.

Janet has been in the studio with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins working on her 11th studio album, due this year on A&M Records. She is also set to add her vocals to the “We Are the World” remake, singing her brother Michael’s part.

I hope this shit is a rumor, has she learned her lesson yet mixing her bizzy with her puzzy. I was hoping Jimmy Jam and Terry only with a touch of Rodney END!!!! Are you sure Rap-up because I read somewhere that JD maybe teaming up with Janet Jackson for Why Did I Get Married Too soundtrack not the main album lol. I’m going back to sleep this shit made me depressed.

Yeah Jermaine and B. Cox are not the right producers for Janet she needs to stick with Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis her original formula. And adding features probobly isnt the best idea. I was very suprised that Disipline didnt sell very well cause it was a very solid janet album. Feedback should have been number one on billboard but people just werent catching on. I still think she should stick to working with Darkchild though cause he brings that new sound to the table that janet needs.

Fact JD worked two Janet projects 20Y.O. and Discipline prior to this project. With Jimmy & Terry there is history the gave Janet a sound that basically put her on the map. Their contributions are always welcomed. JD created solid tracks on discipline where he stepped out of his normal sound. But honestly at this point it seems like Janet and DarkChild are a great pair because he did wonders for discipline but mainstream didn’t give it a chance. If Janet and her team can come up with a strong dance/pop/R&B album she will take off again.

This is hilarious because you guys don’t know shit about Janet’s production. Jermaine Dupri worked on “I Want You” including Kanye West. Kanye West was a big part of Janet’s album “Damita Jo” and that had nothing to do with Janet’s boob popping out…she put in the work on ‘Damita Jo’ in 2004. In 20 Y.O. “Call On Me” was a Janet track…people apparently don’t remember “Got Til’ It’s Gone” or “I Get Lonely”… Janet makes music she likes, if you’re not a fan you would never understand because you don’t purchase Janet’s music, so to say that she was flopping with Jermaine Dupri in the studio is not accurate. You didn’t buy the album! Darkchild is an amazing producer! The-Dream and Tricky Stewart worked on Discipline and that album was cold! I bet you guys didn’t even go and support Janet on that….so, all the Janet is tired and shit…GTFOH….Is that why “Make Me” went #1….

The more I think about it Janet Jackson had hits on all her albums it’s just that over the years Janet went from a singer to a wisper, her beauty, dancing, and drive gave her a pass. I think they got it wrong, I dont think JD is producing the album (since Rodney and Janet already said Rodney was producing since the summer). I too think this is more about the Why did I get married soundtrack. And from Rodney’s tweets, Janets album should be near finished anyway. Little bitches like Dawo are gonna find a way to hate what ever she does so, whatever let him hate, That means she’s doing someting right.

Very upsetting Janet is working with JD again. I seriously hope this is not true. You would think she got the hint with “20.Y.O” and “Dicipline” (Both albums that JD executive produced). Both flopped big time and he is responsible for her career in rapid decline. In times like these, it makes me long for the days when she was back with Rene Elizondo and Jimmy/Terry where she had her creative and physical edge.

@Dawo, I think hes just bitter bc he lost all of his Janet privileges…. Janet has had #1 on almost all her albums that came out after All For You. Even on her “FLOP” albums she still has had numerous #1’s…. Her greatest hits didn’t do that well but Make Me still went #1…. I really hope it’s true that the album is primarily JJ+TL and Rodney … I hope the Bryan Michael Cox quote is about the WDIGM2 soundtrack.

I’ll say this though: as long as Janet is back to writing and producing herself, it will be an improvement. As much as I think Janet needs to work with JJ+TL, the main problem with “Discipline” was that she didn’t write or produce any of it. The more Janet, the better.

I have read that Janet is working with Jim-Jam and Terry on this album, she said she’s going to do 10 dance songs on this album and a few mid-tempo records, It has not said anything about working with Jermaine Dupri.

Moreover, she has to sing like in ALl for you, or the velvet rope cd. and evenmore, hopefully AM records will promote her, Janet made in at a time when you had to have talent to proceed, Nowadays, radio plays only the same top 15 tracks that are giving them kickbacks, Radio use to take chances, but nowadays, it is sad. Back in day all these so called divas would not have even won a grammy, let alone get selected. THe mu8sic indrustry is for sale, with great lobbying anyone can be on top.
