Rap-Up.com || Rihanna Scores Sixth No. 1 on Hot 100

That Rihanna reign just won’t let up. The Barbados singer rules the charts once more with her latest single “Rude Boy.”

Rihanna earns her fifth solo and sixth overall No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as her single jumps 4-1, replacing labelmate Taio Cruz atop the Hot 100. The last time she occupied that spot was in 2008 on T.I.’s single “Live Your Life.” Other No. 1s include “S.O.S.” (2006), “Umbrella” (2007), “Take a Bow” (2008), and “Disturbia” (2008).

“Rude Boy” is the third song from Rihanna’s Rated R album to land in the Top 10. The-Dream and Tricky Stewart-produced “Hard” peaked at No. 8, while lead single “Russian Roulette” topped off at No. 9.

Little Miss Sunshine is already back in the lab working on more potential chart-toppers for her next album. Sean Garrett shared details of the project with Rap-Up.com. “The record I gave her was very, very positive, very big,” said the singer-songwriter. “It’s just so infectious. It’s about getting past any drama and just being happy to be alive.”

She is a single artist. That means nothing…..congrats to her. But getting a number one single and getting a number one ALBUM lets compare. She has had 4 cd’s none which have gone number one. All her albums numbers do poorly. If it weren’t for her presence in the media, and outlandish fashions she would be irrelevant. Rihanna is a trained aritst, poised and very mannaquin like. She is told what to do , and has a whole team who produces her image and what she is about. The REAL rihanna from “Pon De Replay” flopped years ago.

Getting a number one album is way easier than getting a number one single because if you release your album where theres no competition you get the spot by default. Keri Hilson was number one (Rihanna sold more) Chrisette Michelle was number one (Rihanna sold more) and many others will be number one not selling more than Rihanna
And Rihanna’s albums don’t sell poorly
Music of the Sun (DEBUT)- Over 2 million
A Girl Like Me-4.5 million
Good Girl Gone Bad-Almost 8 million
Rated R-Almost 2 million and growing (considering Rated R was a totally different sound from whats popular)

Lmao its funny when people say that just because an album didn’t go #1 it sucks. WTF, going #1 does not mean an album is a success! Especially these days. I mean unless you are Sade, Susan Boyle, who sold 500,000+ in their first week. Rihanna’s album has gone platinum in the US and many other places. In this economy that is great. Keep hating!

Number one albums dont mean nothing if u dont have the hits to back it up. U can have a number one album on the charts and not have any billboard top 10 hits but the hits are what people remember the artist by. Rihanna has that to show so theres nothing u haters can say now cause at this point its irrelevant.

Im not hating, coz I really like Rihanna, but compared to her last album she’s gone downhill, only one number one from it, and the lead single only went to number 9, its flopped in the charts compared to her last album, it barely pushed platinum, but im not hating, its just facts, because I prefer rated r to good girl gone bad, lets hope she pulls it back up in 2010 because other wise its looking bad. anyway love rihanna.
