Akon reinterprets the Brothers Johnson 1977 hit “Strawberry Letter 23” for the first single from Quincy Jones’ Q: Soul Bossa Nostra, a collection of classic Quincy productions remade by today’s stars. A video was shot last week in Los Angeles with director Dayo.
Others paying homage to the legendary producer include Jennifer Hudson (“You Put a Move on My Heart”), Ludacris and Naturally 7 (“Soul Bossa Nova”), and Usher, Robin Thicke, Trey Songz, Tyrese, and more on the Jermaine Dupri-produced “The Secret Garden.”
LOL…JENNIFER HUDSON DOING YOU PUT A MOVE ON MY HEART???Don’t get me wrong I love Jhud but Tamia’s version will never be topped.(yeah i know who sang the original but didn’t like that one)
drtash: Please lets not go over board. Tamia is a very good singer and I like her also, but JHUD is singing on a whole different level. Jennifer Hudson is the best female vocalist in the business today hands down. Yes, Tamia version is good but JHUD is great.
yeah but i don’t think jhud can do sexy and soft very well. She’s a great power belter but sexy and sultry…no I don’t think so. This isn’t one of those “and I’m telling you” type songs. Power isn’t everything.
J.Hud has more than just power she is very versatile and has a wide range. And yes i do think that she is better than Tamia. People always talkin bout what J.Hud can’t do and she steady provin people wrong. Do what u do Jen.
