School Gyrls

Meet Nick Cannon’s teen girl group the School Gyrls. Mandy Rain, 16, Jacque Nimble, 15, and Monica aka Mo’ Money, 17, sit down with Rap-Up TV to share an “OMG” moment when they met Mariah Carey at her mansion and how the pop diva (“She’s a perfectionist”) ended up singing on their new single “Get Like Me.” Plus, they show us a few dance moves and perform an a cappella version of “Something About Him” from their self-titled debut album, available now on NCredible Entertainment/Island Def Jam.

    Hey Rick. Had a look at the ITunes sales chart on the School Gyrls CD? Or maybe you missed that the 1st airing of the movie won its time slot, beating an un-aired episode of Hanna Montana.

    They put me in the mind of the cheetah girls/Hanna Montanna and, …I don’t know with the proper marketing and “POLISH” they could do it… They’re just getting started but doing a song with Mariah doesnt highlight them at all. it highlights her. And btw, …did she say Mo’ Money – lol!

    I mean I think the school gyrls are all talented teens. They are each a triple threat with singing dancing and acting! Each gyrl brings something different to the group. Like Mandy rain is the crazy class clown, Mo Money is a fashionista, and Jacque is the bad ass chick! They all have something that supports the group…and their just starting out so their not going to be a huge sensation right away just like most other stars they are going to have to work their way up to the top and they have the potential to do that!
