Nas and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley share their first time at South by Southwest with VEVO. The duo praises one another and discusses merging their hip-hop and reggae worlds together to create a real experience on their collaborative album Distant Relatives.

“We know what we can do separately, so this is about when we get together, what is gonna happen?” asks Nas. “We making music and God gave us that, and we giving back.”

I don’t expect the album to get huge sales because SMART music usually never gets big sales. Also it seems like the album has no Pop influences so that’ll also bring it down but who cares as long as the music is good I don’t care about the sales.

Well none of Nas’albums have a pop sound and he always has a smart message and he still goes platinum/gold plus! But sells should not be a concern because the msuic is sure to be fire, very creative and a new sound!

Nas fell off after Kelis caught him cheating and divorced him. Plus he comes off fake to me now. Talking all that “positive, change the world, we are one” bull ish, yet he’s cheating on his wife while she pregnant with ghetto tricks. What kind of sh!t is that? He’s not real.

Nas is is one of the only rappers with 7 platinum records count em longevity of over 15 years hip hop has fallen off not Nas dumb niggas wanna hear ring tone rap. Furthermore Nas offer kelis 60000 a year in child and spousal support If any thing Kelis is a deadbeat trying to live off her ex husbands money her career is over one hit wonder Nas was and is the best thing to ever happen to her.

UMMM… YEAH.. BASICALLY DAMIAN MARLEY IS THE BADDEST MAN IN THE BIZ RIGHT NOW.. AND THE ALBUM IS GREAT. NAS DID A GOOD JOB KEEPING UP WITH HIM. EVERYTHING DAMIAN MARLEY TOUCHES IS JUST AMAZING. SO YEAH, FORGET ABOUT ALL THAT OTHER CRAP. THE ALBUM WILL DO GREAT REGARDLESS OF SALES AND WHATEVER. AND LIKE SOMEONE SAID PREVIOUSLY.. ITS NOT MEANT TO BE POP AND PLAYED ON THE RADIO ALL THE TIME. THAT CRAP JUST COMES AND GOES.. LOOK AT DAMIANS OLD ALBUMS… THEY STILL SOUND AS FRESH AS THEY DID ON DAY 1. GOOD MUSIC YOU CAN LISTEN TO MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT STILL AMAZES YOU, POP MUSIC GETS OLD AS SOON AS YOU GET TIRED OF THE HOOK. WE NEED MORE MUSIC WITH DEPTH, LAYERS. EVERYTIME YOU LISTEN TO A GOOD REGGAE ALBUM, YOU CAN LISTEN TO JUST ONE INSTRUMENT AND BE IN AWE THE WHOLE TIME. THEN LISTEN AGAIN AND HEAR ANOTHER INSTRUMENT, AND BE JUST AS AMAZED. PS.
