Rihanna transformed from pop star to rock star while performing her new single “Rockstar 101” on Wednesday’s “American Idol.” The singer picked up a black electric guitar and gave us a taste of what we can expect on her upcoming “Last Girl on Earth” tour.

Her label is really tossing around the song for the 4th single. First it was “Photographs,” then “Te Amo” and now “Rockstar 101.” I love the song but I don’t think it’s single worthy. They should have left it at “Photographs.”

Photographs should have been the next single. It would have been the perfect song to sing live at American Idol and also as a 4th single. Hard and Rudeboy are both uptempo club bangers and this next single should have been a slow layed back song that people can relate to.

After just watching this performance I feel bad for Rihanna. I just don’t think she was meant to really perform. Her songs sound good on CD, but she has never been able to bring them to life onstage. That was not a good performance IMO.

not good at all. rihanna needs to understand that even if she play instruments performing live. she still is terrible as a perfomer. rihanna dont seems to understands that she’s the problem. she cant seems to get in the zone with her own music, performance. so you can bring all the circus with you riri but you have to work on yourself first. some people say she was great. but they dont seems to know what a true performer is. but maybe she just cant, maybe its time to accept that she cant do better.

love rihanna and her album, but this is such a wrong choice for a single! te amo, or even better photographs…they have great summer vibes

dont even know why thinking about another single…rude boy can be her next umbrella, she should let it last a little…

rockstar is not a single, an ok album song at its best…with a little luck it will be a top 20

i respect her for always trying different things, people dont acknowledge, maybe cause they dont like her…but she always does something different….

but sometimes i dont know what happened to her, she came first with those dance songs and little moves and now she does nothing, except for rude boy
i believe she could dance if she wanted, at least she can move, her whining is absolutely hot

but sorry, this is a step backwards…from going to the sunny side with a new style back to the dominatrix thing

and please chose te amo as a next single and shoot a sexy video with katy perry being your lover!
