Big Boi’s Solo Debut Gets July Date

Big Boi

Big Boi has chosen the summer time to formally introduce fans to Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. After a lengthy delay, the album has been given a proper release date.

The OutKast member’s solo debut will arrive July 6 via Def Jam, Rap-Up.com has learned. The Scott Storch-produced lead single “Shutterbugg” was released earlier this week to much applause, while a video for the smokers’ anthem “Fo Yo Sorrows,” featuring George Clinton and Too $hort, surfaced last month.

In an interview with DJ Delz, the Atlanta native revealed that he has recorded three tracks with his other half, André 3000, one of which was produced by 3000, and “Lookin’ for Ya,” produced by Boi-1da. “[It's] a lyrical manslaughter,” he said.

Other appearances include T.I. (“Tangerine”), Jamie Foxx (“Hustle Blood”), and Sleepy Brown (“Turn Me On”).

Can’t wait for this album especially after hearing the new single “Shutterbuggs” the other day! This album seems like the southern version of Detox with how long we have been waiting to lol! Glad to see it have what seems like a solid release date though!
