It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Janelle Monáe! The otherworldly singer travels to a galaxy far, far away in the trailer for her full-length debut album The ArchAndroid, landing in stores May 18.
Janelle Monae is the music Industrys Best Kept Secret shes so underrated and hopefully in due time will blow up. Her music is absolutely incredible, like it could be the soundtrack to a huge motion picture movie.
This is so fly! I wish more artists were like this woman. Its a shame that she isn’t more popular. But I will say it again. She is the WRONG COLOR. It’s unfortunate but true. If Gaga was doing this people would be going crazy. It’s a damn shame. But you know what black people are to blame also for holding back creative black artists like this one. And passing them off to the side as someone who’s weird, or into that “white” people stuff. SMDH Wake up black people! We’ve got a star on our hands.
I seriously love every female R&B singer, but Janelle Monae is on a whole other level. She is so damn creative and her imagination is so inspiring. Her album will probably be my favorite of 2010. Wow, Kelis, Ciara, Janelle, Teairra and so many others are going to SLAY this summer. I’m so excited.
I agree with everyone else’s comments, and I want to thank Rap-Up sincerely because I wouldn’t have known about her otherwise – we seriously NEED more artists like this!!! From the first time I listened to her music I was hooked!!! Can’t wait for the album!

This sounds like it’s out of a fantasy movie, like harry potter or steven spielberg!
