Rap-Up.com || Video: Ciara – ‘Basic Instinct (U Got Me)’

Ciara is back in the Trap and reminding her detractors that she’s still the “Same Old Chic” in the viral video for “Basic Instinct (U Got Me).” The street anthem is a formal introduction to her fourth album Basic Instinct.

CiCi admits to going Hollywood for a minute, but is coming back to stake her claim. “I got a lil’ too prissy/ I didn’t expect ya’ll bitches to try to get me/ U got me,” she raps in the expletive-filled clip featuring The-Dream.

She will unveil a glossier image when the video for her first single “Ride” premieres Wednesday.

This is fly.. but for some reason she’ll never be on the “international superstar” level. Her vocal range is limited and her content is played out. She can dance though. But not sing and dance at the same time.. many can’t do that, actually.

The more I watch it the more I like it. The way the video is directed is awesome, definitely adds a gritty tone to it. I love the end of the song too where she does more singing. @Brandon – About the “international superstar” thing, I know that at least she’s known here in Japan and has made appearances on television, etc. and it’s not strange for me to see her videos playing on the outdoor big screen televisions that broadcast videos. Japan stay knowing what’s going on in the Western music scene. Same with Korea and the Philippines, etc. That’s international.
