New Music: M.I.A. – ‘XXXO’ [CDQ]

XXXO

M.I.A. shows her true colors on the angry love letter “XXXO,” the first single from her third album /\/\/\Y/\ (pronounced Maya), due July 6 July 13. The Brit laments about her overbearing boyfriend who’s “tweeting [her] like Tweety Bird on [his] iPhone” over the electro-pop production.

“You want me be somebody who I’m really not,” the chorus repeats as M.I.A. gives him the cold shoulder. Ouch.

    Huh? This is so NOT like your usual M.I.A. Not feeling the track too much, but it’s not horrible. Sounds like it’ll eventually grow on me, though.

    This is hot, definate hit. I didnt expect the song to be this catchy. Radio is gonna kill this record. But i hope she has those songs like Paper Planes on the album that people will love. I know the video to XXXO is gonna be crazy Hype Williams is gonna go in for this song.

    Who Knew That M.I.A. Could Sing A Little Bit, But I Wish She Had Rapped On This Track… Now That Would Have Been Hott, But It’s Better Than “Born Free”… I Still Like The Song, It Just Has To Grow On Me A Little More… M.I.A. For 2010.

    This is a great song. Very catchy. I’m hoping it gets the recognition it deserves!

    Also, it may not be the typical MIA we’re all used too, but at least she decided to put out more music for her fans. She almost quit the music biz. Be happy at the fact that she’s still doing this for us.
