Rap-Up.com || Eminem Talks Rihanna, Pink, and Lil Wayne Collaborations

Eminem visited Skyrock FM in Paris on Tuesday for a rather unrevealing talk about his new album Recovery. Among the topics they ~~barely~~ touched on…

Producers on Recovery include… Just Blaze, DJ Khalil, Mr. Porter, Jim Jonsin, Alex Da Kid, Boi-1da, and Dr. Dre.
The metaphorical video for “Not Afraid” debuts Saturday. “The overall concept is basically just being in a dark place and trying to get to the light.”
Rihanna – “It’s one of those tracks that I felt like only she could pull it off.”
Pink – “I laid my parts first and kinda heard her on the record. I felt like she would smash this record, so I gave her a call and she was with it, so we did it.”
Lil Wayne – “I’ve always respected what Wayne does. Wayne to me is definitely one of the greatest in the game right now.”

Regarding the collaboration between Eminem and Rihanna – They’re going to have to make an effort to make sure this collaboration is light and dry, not cheesy.

Also, don’t make it too much like an anthem, nor too appealing to the masses. Make it irreverent, and don’t try to enlighten people.

The whole album is shit. Eminem is washed up. He was at his best when teaming with Dre, and Dre only produces 1 song on the new album. What a sad fall from grace for a formerly good rapper.

I can’t really give Pink as much credit as Em would; honestly, if he decided she would be perfect for the record it’s because he’s an amazing performer and producer and is able to take a step back and critique his own work, realizing what can or should be added (or subtracted).

Based on the 2+ songs they have produced together, I have to seriously consider the possibility that Em and Wayne would make an incredible album as a duo. Just saying–listen to “No Love,” “Drop the World,” and even “Forever Remix” (by Drake).
