Stormy weather and a power outage caused Erykah Badu to cancel her show at Chene Park in Detroit on Friday (June 4). Badu delivered the disappointing news to concertgoers. The show has been rescheduled to August 12.

The soul songstress recently shot a video for the remix to “Window Seat” with Rick Ross. In the clip, the Bawse comes to bail Badu out of jail in his Porsche Panamera Turbo. “We continuing where the first ‘Window Seat’ ended,” he told MTV News. “Where she was assassinated and ultimately scooped up and arrested.” The video then segues into her new single “Get Money.”

  4. so hurt.

i was at this concert … and it was the most disappointing thing ever. chene park staff never even bothered to come out and let the concertgoers know that they were having technical difficulties … and badu didn’t deliver this news until the fans commenced to booing … after we’d waited 2 hours in the rain waiting on her.

i understand this was out of anyone’s control … but a heads up somewhere in that 2 hour waiting period would have been nice.

still LOVE erykah tho and that’ll never change! i’ll just have to associate her with something else … and surely not this event.
