Rap-Up.com || Hot 97 Summer Jam 2010

Drake and Nicki Minaj made their first appearance at Hot 97′s annual Summer Jam concert at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday (June 6). The Young Money Millionaires treated the crowd to a performance of their new collaboration “Up All Night” from Thank Me Later.

The hip-hop Barbie changed outfits three times throughout the show, rocking an orange wig during her and Drake’s sets, pulling out a black-and-white bodysuit for DJ Khaled, and finishing in a pink dress and black wig for Usher, where she held hands with her “Lil Freak” Cassie.

Rick Ross, Trey Songz, Ludacris, Gucci Mane, Fabolous, Juelz Santana, and Reflection Eternal (with special guests Estelle and J. Cole) all took the stage before DJ Khaled, who had everybody’s hands in the air for an all-star set that included Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Cam’ron, and T-Pain.

In my Nas voice ” Nicki & Drake are what’s wrong with Hip Hop”… Too much hype not enough substance.. Not enough impact.. I know people will hate me but I would love to see Lil Kim go hard against them both.. The young kids forget that Kim battled against Foxy, 2 Pac, Diddy, Junior Mafia, Jay Z, Remy Ma, 50 Cent & countless others. Although she may not win every battle.. She doesn’t back down and goes hard… At Drake — Watch your back (Kim’s hardest lyrics and style comes when she battles with other dudes)

Why the hell is Cassie there? If you’re not performing why bother getting on the stage? They’re trying too hard to find a gimmick or drama for her to be relevant. She needs to focus on her music and “skills” or else she will continue to be a nobody in this Beyonce, Rihanna, and Gaga world.
