Kid Cudi Arrested for Destroying Property, Drug Possession

Kid Cudi was arrested in New York City on Friday (June 11) for felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance.

TMZ reports that the “Day ‘N’ Night” hitmaker shattered the phone of a 24-year-old woman and allegedly ripped her apartment door off its hinges. Police arrived at the scene and found a glass bottle of a controlled substance.

The 26-year-old rapper is dating environmental activist Jamie Baratta, but it’s unknown whether she was the woman involved in the incident.

This is not Cudi’s first violent outburst. Last year, he punched a fan in Vancouver during a show after a wallet was thrown at him onstage, later finding out he had targeted the wrong individual.

UPDATE: Kid Cudi performed as planned at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee at 2 a.m. on Saturday. After taking the stage, he told the crowd, “I really wanted to be here tonight.”
