Music is not the only thing on Ne-Yo’s plate these days. The singer-songwriter has been venturing further into acting. He plays Andrew “Smoky” Salem, a tobacco-chewing fighter pilot, in Red Tails, based on the story of African-American World War II pilots Tuskegee Airmen. Ne-Yo shares what it was like to work with iconic director George Lucas (Star Wars) and actors Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr. in the movie, due next February.
Plus, he speaks out about writing for Jennifer Hudson’s sophomore album, what he thinks of Kanye West’s new single “Power” (I’m so happy that he’s back”), his love for Drake, and what he admires about Jay-Z.
