Album Snippets: M.I.A. – ‘/\/\/\Y/\’![]() M.I.A.’s third studio album /\/\/\Y/\ (pronounced Maya) opens with the clicking of a keyboard and ends with the sound of a dial-up Internet connection. The 12-track disc, heavily inspired by the World Wide Web, features production from Rusko, Blaqstarr, Diplo, and Switch. Preview one-minute snippets from the Oscar nominee’s latest effort before its release on July 13. “If you’re an M.I.A. fan and you buy a new M.I.A. record, you want to hear something you’ve never heard before. This record gives you that,” Rusko told Billboard. The Hype Williams-directed video for “XXXO” will debut later this month. M.I.A. is also scheduled to appear July 13 on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and the following night on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

@Infamous1,
So true and Kanye West is definitly the most creative man in music. If those two dated the would make the perfect couple.

sorry, but this album is gonna flop. a little less fl overdose and a lil more real melodies next time, please. there isnt even a song on it,that could possibly be catchy enough to be the next single.

People who label M.I.A as “crap” or “garbage” simply don’t understand her music. Anyway, the album sounds so good, but I think it’s gonna be hard to top the masterpiece that was “Kala.”

Album of the year. Hands down!
And Kyle, yes, maybe it won’t top Kala, but it is at least as amazing as Arular (which was a 9 out of 10 for me). 3 huge albums like this in a row… How many artists have done that? I can count them with my 2 hands only. She’s a goddess.
