Christina Aguilera belted “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the Lakers took on the Celtics during Game 6 of the NBA Finals at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. The pop diva’s new album Bionic is expected to debut at No. 3 this week, selling around 115,000 copies.

If you think this album will struggle to go Gold, you obviously haven’t heard it. The CD has PLENTY of single-worthy tracks.

Rihanna’s “Rated R” didn’t debut with amazing 1st week sales either, but it’s been selling just fine with later singles.

and rihanna flopped harder opening week because sales in october-december are so much stronger than sales the rest of the year. if xtina can catch a “beautiful”-type ballad on radio, she’ll be fine. i don’t see “woohoo” doing anything, though.

shes an amazing vocalist i use to be such a devoted fan of hers, but for me i have to question her artistry with her new album because it’s a perfect copy of what other artists did this year already or the years before that-very outdated music on Bionic, and the sales prove it
