Rap-Up.com || Exclusive: Kanye West Enlists Nicki Minaj for New Album

Nicki Minaj’s stock keeps rising. After appearing on records for Mariah Carey, Usher, Robin Thicke, Sean Kingston, and Christina Aguilera, Kanye West has called on hip-hop’s heroine for his new album.

BET’s Executive Vice President of Entertainment and Music Programming Stephen Hill was one of the lucky few invited to hear Mr. West’s eagerly-anticipated new project. “He’s got a track with Nicki Minaj that’s so dope,” he exclusively revealed to Rap-Up.com. “You won’t believe it when you hear it.”

The executive has heard four cuts from the album, tentatively titled Good Ass Job. “He comes back unapologetic and his performance [at the BET Awards] was stellar, absolutely stellar,” he said.

Hill described the direction as more reminiscent of the rapper’s first three albums. “It’s less like 808s & Heartbreak and more like Graduation.”

Kanye returned to the spotlight at last weekend’s BET Awards, where he opened the show with “Power” while wearing $300,000 in jewelry.

what makes people want to work with her? the only format she’s famous on = internet blogs. the only feature that did well was “my chick bad” and that was because of luda; “massive attack” flopped badly. “your love” is doing alright but damn, you’d think she was the hottest rapper in the industry instead of a plastic mixtape queen. whatever.

For female collaborators on this album I was hoping for either Nicki or Rihanna! He went with Nicki but my fingers are still crossed for a Rihanna collabo too! However I know this is going to be one of biggest collaborations of the year! I cant even put in my mind how awesome the video would be!

I’ve heard Your Love on all the Urban stations here in Baltimore. They play the mixtape versions on some stations and the official version on other stations.
Its good that it went to #1 on the Rap Billboard charts and she hasnt even done any promo for it.
This track will most definitely be hot and hopefully it gets to become a single.

your love is a rap song is she not rapping on it and where do you live at where it doesnt play on urban stations cause it can’t get to #1 on rap billboards and #9 on hip/r&b billboards without playing on urban staions if anything i rarely hear it on pop sation. but yea i cant wait to hear her & kanye but im ready to hear nicki minaj next single 2 because there no point in doin a video for your love if it made it to #1 with out 1 last female rapper to have #1 solo single was missy with “work it in 2002 … man go nicki she is definately more than a feature artist … LOVE HER AND KANYE and cant wait

Your Love has just been released to pop radio and is like #46 on Top 40/mainstream radio.
The bulk of airplay has come from urban-centered station its #8 on the urban airplay chart and #5 on rhythmic airplay.
So idk what you’ve been listening to.

I like Nicki & Rihanna, they’ve did well on their respective features, then I won’t mind them being on the album at all. I really would like to see Eminem & Drake on the album. Doubt this will happen, but J.Cole would be a sick feature.

@ Trey, Drake & Nicki are not the saviors of Hip Hop. At least 1 of the 2 probably won’t even be around in 5-7 years (most likely Nicki). Right now, their helping to keep Rap/Hip Hop @ a below average level. It will be a few years before we see the real savior(s).

In the current batch of up & comers, I can’t find anyone that fits the role of savior. So for now, it’s people like Nicki & Drake’s time, but remember that this “swag era” most likely won’t go past 2014.

Who even cares if Nicki can’t do shit by herself, when she’s on collabos w/ people she goes nuts. Personally, I hate Your Love, it’s not the true Nicki. When she’s around other rapper’s, the true “barbie” rapper comes out of her. Have you heard her verse on “Sweet Dreams” (No Ceilings Version?) or her verse on Drake’s “Up All Night” or even her verse on “Roger That”..? She goes crazy, and I’m sure she won’t let anyone down with this one.
