Lloyd Banks Admires Lloyd's Hustler Spirit

Lloyd and Lloyd Banks

Since Lloyd Banks dropped “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley” earlier this year, fans have been patiently waiting for the follow-up, which came in the form of “Any Girl” featuring R&B crooner Lloyd. Though the two share the same moniker, the G-Unit rapper had other reasons to tap into the singer’s talents.

“I was always a fan and I felt like he made good music,” Banks tells staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud. “But just under the circumstances, [a collaboration] couldn’t happen at the time because he was with the other guys—Murder Inc.” When it came time to reach out to Lloyd for “Any Girl,” which debuted earlier than planned due to a pesky hacker, all it took was a phone call from Banks. “I knew he was going to hop to it,” Banks states. “He’s a hustler ’cause he’s been independent, so he knows what the grind is and he doesn’t have too many barriers to go over in terms of getting clearance.”

For those thinking “Any Girl,” which is set to appear on H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2), took months to create, Banks says otherwise. “In the session, it probably took about maybe an hour tops,” he reveals. “Lloyd’s easy to work with. He has ideas and he’s not afraid to experiment.” Despite meeting for the first time during the recording session, the R&B singer embraced the G-Unit affiliate’s work ethic. “He came in and nailed [what I wanted],” says Banks. “I’ve had records that are written and people may feel a little funny about re-vocalling it because it’s written by a rapper opposed to another singer. People don’t really know that I wrote all the R&B choruses on my albums.”
