You’ve heard his beats. Now meet the man behind hits for Drake and Eminem. Although he tried to avoid the red carpet, Rap-Up TV caught Matthew Samuels, better known as Canadian producer Boi-1da, at IGA’s Crème of the Crop dinner following Sunday’s BET Awards.
The hitmaker spoke briefly about going from Drake’s mom’s basement to the top of the charts with his fellow Canuck and how he’s yet to meet Eminem, whose “Not Afraid” he produced. “He’s one of my favorite rappers. The first CD I ever bought was The Slim Shady LP,” said the Toronto native.
