John Legend goes back to the ’70s in the groovy video for “Wake Up Everybody,” the first single from Wake Up!, his covers album with The Roots. Mr. Legend takes on Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes’ 1975 classic with some help from Common and Melanie Fiona. The clip was shot by director Gil Green on a rainy Tuesday in Brooklyn at the same spot where Jay-Z reportedly filmed “Izzo (H.O.V.A.).” Can you dig it?

I hope Common and Melanie hook up I saw an interview not long ago where she said she have always had a crush on him. He is so fine and good looking, I don’t know why he can’t keep a girlfriend. I think he have the nice boy syndrome or maybe he’s just to mature for the ladies he date, Melanie seems mature and nice enough for him and like she might appreciate him the way she should one thing I know for sure they definitely would make some pretty babies.
