Rap-Up.com || M.I.A. Goes for Gold in ‘XXXO’ Video

Ghetto fabulous meets exotic princess in this photo from the set of M.I.A.’s “XXXO” video. Bonafide-Hustler.net (via Dmke2008) has provided the first image from the oft-delayed clip to Maya’s first single. The video was directed by Hype Williams and also features footage shot by M.I.A. on her Flip cam. No word on a premiere date yet.

The album is a 4.3 out of 5 for me and it’s still growing on me…Alot people were disapointed but those are the same people who hopped on the M.I.A. bandwagon after Paper Planes became a hit which was a year AFTER Kala was released. I’ve been a fan of M.I.A. since her debut so I understand her and I’m a fan of experimental music too.

Nah, I don’t think so because I enjoyed the album and I’m also a fan of Indie, Experimental and Alternative music so I knew the Mainstream audience wouldn’t enjoy the album.

She has good ideas.

You have to close attention to the songs such as Boyz and Bird Flu, notice the irregularity of the beats, the way the producers have incorporated the electronic effects into the traditional percussions, the non-traditional way of utilizing non-instrumental sounds, etc.. it’s all about oddly beautiful noises.

you see Gorillaz also try to do that too, and they kinda generically passed.
