I thought he was suppose to go platinum the first week. It only took Eminem a week in a half to go platinum. People please stop over hyping! Drake is decent but not the greatest.

Um this is good sales for this to be Drake’s first album.
Eminem’s first album didn’t go platinum in 5 weeks, so you can shut your mouth with that nonsense.
Drake’s first album sold more than Eminem’s first and second album in it’s first week.
You can’t compare someone (Eminem) who has been in the game since 1996 (14 years) against someone (Drake) who has been the game for a year.
Your comment was useless and you’re making yourself look really ridiculous right now.

well, those of you who are saying that eminem is from way back in 90′s. I can only tell you one thing, in the 90′s drake would have not been as successful as eminem back then.
90′s were solid rap , not commercial rap , like drake’s . eminem is hardocre, he is a real rapper, while drake is just commercial.
Eminem’s first album was not under a major label. it didnt have publicity or anything :D so dont talk like you all know. Eminem’s second album was certified 4 times platinum.
And today you have so much exposure, if drake didnt have such exposure, his material wouldnt have made it this far, but with lil wayne talking him , him doing free concerts , tv appearances you have to sell that much.
Eminem wasnt on tv for recovery, still not afraid and love the way you lie, became number 1, recovery went platinum in 2 weeks :D , and and eminem , is surely going home with some major grammy awards this year.
Drake is good. But not as good as eminem , and it isnt related to how much time they have been in the game.

AGGH! Stop bringing up Drake & Eminem every time there’s a post about one of them. Eminem did start in the 90′s, and he’s on his 7th album, this is just Drake’s first. Your saying Drake has the Wayne co-sign, Em wouldn’t have blown up w/o the Dr. Dre co-sign. It doesn’t matter, EM did over 700,000 his first week, and went platinum the next, Drake, did over 400,000 week one, and went platinum the 5th week. They’re both talented, and both sucessful, stop comparing the rookie to the veteran, it’s pointless gosh!

OH, and @fueminemhaters, Eminem WAS on tv for Recovery! He did a skit on the soup, the did the jimmy fallon show, he did the david letterman show with Jay-Z, he did the bet awards, and he got the sham-wow guy to do a promo on recovery, so ur kinda wrong their buddy. They went crazy w/ that album’s promotion

This is innaccurate. He announced the platinum sales mark way too early. As of now, the album is still just shy of 900k. Claiming an album is selling when it’s not is NOT player.
