Rap-Up TV: Teairra Mari Is Past ‘That Point,’ Re-Records Album

Teairra Mari is starting over. After most of the material from her sophomore album At That Point leaked, the R&B vixen decided it was time to go back to the drawing board and re-record and re-title the project. “Honey, I am past that point,” she told Rap-Up TV, while revealing that she’s already done four new songs with producer HotSauce and songwriter London.

She also spoke about more immediate projects, including her EP Sincerely Yours, due August 17, and upcoming DJ Drama mixtape, which features remixes to songs by Drake, Usher, Alicia Keys, and Young Jeezy.

Plus, what makes her so resilient in spite of the uphill battle she’s faced? “I don’t come from much,” shared Teairra. “I would never want to go back to [my previous situation]. I just want to put my all into whatever it is I do.”

Listen to the Mavado-assisted “Coins,” a song that will not appear on her EP.

She said she didnt release the album because songs were leaking? Isnt it because she wasnt getting a hit single. Atleast keep it real and say all your singles were flopping so your rerecording new material. Its good that shes not giving up but i think all she needs is that radio friendly track that they will play on every radio station. She should release a ballad.

been saying this for awhile…these hoodrat chicken head tracks she been releasing will not get her the respect she needs…she needs to hook up with Missy Elliot and Jazmine Sullivan on a modern throwback type ballad…think..Torn/So Gone/At your best!

She has the vocals but continue to dumb them down for flop radio tracks…get it together!

she’s so much better than the material she’s releasing. i think it says a lot about the state of the industry when a gorgeous, talented girl releases nonsense tracks because that’s the norm and that’s what gets radio play.

    rootin’ for you, tete.

She had potential, but I’m ready for her to sit down now.
But she definitely needs to tone down and focus on her vocals.
I don’t know how she thought all these sexed-up viral videos were going to do her any good.

Luv this girl! I hope she continues to try and work hard. Her team could definitely embrace her more tho but I’m glad she’s on her grind. Definitely can’t knock her hustle cuz she is hardworking and resilient.

I knew it was going to happen! As much as I was anticipating “At That Point”, I think this happened for the best. Now, maybe she can start all over again and record some better tracks. I still have faith in Teairra though and wish her well.

I honestly thought “Cause a Scene” was gonna be her big hit but BET wasnt playing the video for some reason. That was her biggest potential hit. I think now if she really wants to be relevant she should release a ballad cause the club tracks just arent doing it for her. Shes lucky to have a label that is letting her go back in the studio to record more material and still release the album under a different name. Hopefully this time will be a charm for her.

  12. Thank Me Later

The perfect name for her album would be Stamina. Shes not giving up and that title would explain that

Definition of Stamina: the energy and strength for continuing to do something over a long period of time.
;the capability of sustaining prolonged stressful effort

Rap-up let teairra kno that would be the perfect title for her new album. Thank me Later lol

She really deserves success. Keep your head up it will happen. I really was inspired by how she said she didn’t come from much and never wanted to go back to that. I could feel the sincerity in her voice. Beautiful, intelligent, and determined young lady. I only wish her the best!

I don’t think she will ever see success due to the image they put out there. As for when she came out she had jayz behind her an she still aint do well. She does these songs for radio play that really just make her sound strickly commercial. The new album body seems like she is a clone of rihanna. Sponser to me is like a song saying she got a suga daddy. Dudes is feeling soulful songs, Not material songs. Girls are feeling heartful songs, As for teairra mari career tell me were is the Love. Her albums seems just to be about drama an nothing that is catchy. U cant depend on other artist to get u out the box for sure if that artist is not like beyounce an jay/ swiss an alica keys/ a team effort. I have nothing against teairra mari but she seems to be heading down the same road, an there are no changes. She is boring to the eye of the public. very beautiful but boring. An it seems only attention she really gets now is not so much her voice but her looks. An that play boy thing, Yeah they will give her alot of money to see that body, But if she takes that road she can say good by completely to her music career. No body will respect her. An just cause some one gives you money for something dont mean its good. She is lost an if she havent had a hit yet meaning on b.e.t / M.t.v top list: She need to take some time to reflect an think of a new an stop the old. I dont hate mari I would love to see her do great. But its to the point were she is not entertaining to me no more an havent been for years. Even when she was wit roc ( it was like a waste) She got dropped due to they couldnt figgure out what to do wit her. No she aint like most girls but then she not really doing nothing to stand out she is just like a normal girl. an NOrmal is not super: Rihanna stood out due to look at her. An check out her songs. She goes the distance. That many fear to go: Got to have heart> Be bold, the day you fear what another thinks is the day you lose ur self. The day you try to be like some one is the day I call that person Fake: CAn teairra come back Not if she continues to do the same old things:
