Report: Kanye West to Return to VMAs

Kanye West and Taylor Swift

Despite his headline-grabbing appearance at last year’s show, MTV has invited Kanye West back to perform at this year’s Video Music Awards.

All eyes will be on Mr. West when he takes the stage at the 27th annual show, according to UsMagazine.com.

Kanye had everyone talking after he interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech at last year’s event. He was reportedly asked by MTV to leave the show following the spectacle. But the hoopla is bound to attract viewers who will be tuning in to see whether Kanye has any more surprises up his sleeve.

The VMA gig is only one of many things Kanye has planned for this year. “More music … I’m bout to drop a bunch of shit this year.. surprise performances.. guest verses… living in the studio,” tweeted the rapper, whose fifth album is set for a November release.

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m.

mtv sucks they arent a real award show any way. He will be the best part of the awards show with out a doubt. They needed sumthin to make up for those horrible nominations.

@mr, What constitutes a “real award show”?? The Grammys or BET Awards? Those are an even bigger joke!

Kanye gone murder that ish! But I do agree with Mr about some of the noms being whack. For example, how is “Find Your Love” not nominated for video of the year?

@jay mtv and the bet awards are a joke. The grammys are official. Everyone aims for a grammy. Mtv just gives away awards and when is the last time someone reached the top of there career because of a bet award.

No surprise here, MTV worships any form of narcissism.

mtv is smart kanye west brings ratings to the show. And while many dont agree with his actions(me not being one of them) his actions saved an awards show that was getting dull after the mj tribute. And not to mention taylor swifts dry, “oh me i dont deserve this” acceptance speech. kanye rules and he will deliver as always

I don’t see why they wouldn’t have Kanye back. He definitely created a buzz and had people talking about the show. Of course they would invite him back. He pulls in ratings. And the grammy’s are a joke.

The grammys are a joke after BEP & Lady Gaga had album of the year nominations while Taylor Swift won it. Does album of the year even mean the best album any more?

mtv may want him for ratings but if he didn’t think that show would help him sell more records, he wouldn’t do it.

how many times has he had problems with mtv and come crawling back?

i think it would be sick if:
    1. as a joke taylor interupted kanye during a speech.
    2. if kanye and taylor did a song together. like…..all falls down with taylor on the hook.

I think Kanye and Taylor should do a love duet. Now that would be amazing. And besides, MTV gets all horny and wet for ratings. This would help them.

    Who is Taylor Swift, haha

It makes sense. MTV neeeds the ratings but the grammys are not a joke. They base their stuff by album sales and singles on the album. Eminem might be nominated for album of the year in 2011, and some of those people actually deserve a nod from MTV.

I HOPE KAYNE MAKES A ANNOUNCEMENT SAYING RIHANNA DESERVES +5 NOMINATIONS NOT 1.

There better be a BEYONCE AND GAGA DUET! I need to see them performing Telephone live on stage!!!!

  28. J.Smith MANNE!

They r only letting him come cuz they want some action and more people 2 watch him mess up…. again

  29. jhuntdaprodigy

Another thing, yeah I agree, Kanye & Taylor need 2 do sumn 2getha. Present an award, be in a skit, do a little song thing, something! And @Robz…No. I’m not gonna say “I hope gaga won’t perform” but knowing mtv she prolly will. Whatever though, I better see Em & Tip added to the list as well

Well hopefully Yezzy do his thang. Everyone knows he only there for ratings n ish. But that would be funny if on Video of the Year he runs on stage n says RIHANNA SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR THIS SHIT!!! Ahahha lmao.
