New Music: Lupe Fiasco – ‘Go to Sleep’

You wanted Lasers? You’ll have to rethink your appetite. Chi-town native Lupe Fiasco has released the first track off his oft-delayed third studio album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, formerly titled Lasers.
Produced by 1500 or Nothin’ (Nipsey Hussle, Asher Roth), “Go to Sleep” rolls slowly with haunting piano melody complemented by chugging percussion and a mournful vocal line. “My can do spirit’s in the house,” he raps. Looks like he’s ready to give the people what they want.

    Actually, L.A.S.E.R.S is a completely different album. I dont know why he has two albums out at the same time, but its just like that.

    He’s not putting out END now because he’s not retiring. L.A.S.E.R.S. is already completed and Atlantic is not putting it out. Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album is an entirely different project because this is the first single for it. Shining Down and I’m Beamin’ are singles for L.A.S.E.R.S. Hopefully Atlantic releases this because I need a new Lupe album.

    atlantic (the album label) won’t release lasers because they thought it didn’t have enough hit songs, so lupe is taking action and moving on. also this song dropped a couple days ago, lagging a bit rap up

    I love this song!! Lupe needs to just go independent so that he can still make money & we can get our music, or sign with Roc Nation ….he’ll blow up there lol

    Lupe is the best there is. Most people could not even understand this music after listening to Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, and whack music all day. He needs to stay in hip hop as one of its only shining lights put out his cd’s and his book and keep it moving.
