Trey Songz

Eager fans could hardly wait to check out Trey Songz’ “Can’t Be Friends” video. So when an unfinished version appeared on the Internet, many were tempted to watch it. But those patient enough will get to see the finished product this week.

Trey has announced that he will premiere the official video for the second single from his new album Passion, Pain & Pleasure on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. EST on his official website. The provocative clip was directed by Anthony Mandler, who helmed his Nicki Minaj-assisted video for “Bottoms Up.”

An unauthorized version of the visuals prematurely surfaced online late last month, but was removed from YouTube and other sites by Trey’s label Atlantic Records.

The R&B heartthrob is traveling across the country on tour with Monica. He will present at next weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, followed by his album release on Sept. 14.
