Rap-Up.com || Willow Smith Signs to Roc Nation

A few days after Willow Smith dropped her debut single “Whip My Hair,” she’s already making major moves. The nine-year-old has officially inked a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint, with Hov sharing the good news this morning.

“We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow,” said Jay in a statement. “She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious. It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age. Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.”

Not only was Jigga excited about the signing, but Willow’s parents Will and Jada Pinkett Smith chimed in about how proud they are of their young daughter. “After meeting with several record companies, it was clear that Jay-Z, Ty Ty, Jay Brown, and the Roc Nation staff was the unquestionable choice,” stated the Hollywood power couple. “Their passion for Willow combined with their boundless vision and artistic integrity made Roc Nation the perfect home for our little girl.”

With her career on the rise, Willow is planning on shooting the video for her JukeBox-produced single at the end of the month.

@minnie – Raven Symone was signed when she was only about 5, so she was way ahead of Willow.

I wish Willow all the best and I would think that her parents they know what they’re doing rather than try to tell other people how to raise their kids.

“Yourlove” that is a half baked explanation of events. Rihanna song was previously announced, released and and went for radio adds. An established artist looking to release a song for an upcoming album with a november release. We knew 5 things about Willow and almost no one cared b4 – now everyone on the internet can’t stop talking about it. That’s the power of the people. Rihanna has the power of Def Jam adding her song to stations, but what do the people have to say about it. That’s just it, no one cares. Willow tore up twitter and only girl fell by the wayside. Willow won. The end. Get over it. You be looking foolish when they actually release willow’s song to radio. LOL. There are already stations putting it in rotation but haven’t officially added it to the playlist.

this is clearly an extention of the relationship will and jada have with jay from the broadway play Fela. i listened to the song and didn’t think it was an insane record, but roc nation still has a lot to prove. the biggest name on the label is still Jay-Z. J.Cole seems to be having problems. hopefully Bridget Kelly comes out strong. the other little girl song was on dance radio…but that’s about it. and the beyonce looking chick will probably never come out because she’s clearly a replica of bey. has any artist on roc nation released an album yet? smoke and mirrows. roc nation has been talking for a while, but i still haven’t seen any results.

Please, stop comparing Willow and Rihanna. Let Willow do her and Rihanna is going to continue to do her. I am happy an album may come out that I can actually buy for my nieces and nephews. Willow is getting to share her god-given talent and I support her and the Smith family 100%.
