After Lady Gaga kept him resting comfortably, Akon’s music career takes flight again with the triumphant “Angel,” the lead single from his oft-delayed album Akonic. Sporting a Euro-pop sound, the track features the singer cooing about his girl floating up above the clouds as a steady dance beat thumps underneath his vocals. Listen below and see if it takes you to cloud nine.
i feel this is sick. like i think his voice is so amazing and one of a kind. dont hate hes just switching up his style. we’d get bored if he kept singing about being in the ghetto and being locked up.
Sounds like everything on the Radio like now. Beginning sounds like BEP’s I Gotta Feeling. Euro dance doof doof techno. This aint Hip Hop/RnB. Where’s all the good music gone?
this song is pretty sick and could be a club banger but i agree with everyone-he should go back to his origins (locked up & trouble etc)but i think him working with guetta could be a nice change. electronic music ftw
I’m getting of all these artists following the crowd and doing this dance nonsense. This stuff is so generic and forgettable. We are not even going to look back at these songs 2 years from now. Can the industry PLEASE go back to having songs with substance?
Am I the only one who saw this picture posted of Akon? Screw the song, why in the HELL is this man wearing a black suit on a dark colored couch with such a dark back ground?! Is it me or does Akon look BURNT as Hell?! LMAO! Wow… They should have had this pic a little brighter. All you can see is his eyes and his shirt! LOL!
i bet it’s David Guetta who made this boring ass beat again. I’ll be very happy when this whole Electro/Euro/Dance/david guetta style type of shit is gone in half a year – a year.
It’s not a bad song, but…I miss the Konvicted album Akon. “Smack That’, “Don’t Matter “Blame it on me” “I Wanna Love You” were his biggest singles, and they were my gas, I don’t understand why he doesn’t realize that was his lane, and it worked for him. Not this euro sounding stuff he does now. This might be a big hit, but I miss old Akon
Y’all HATIN’ on him…he said from the jump that his goal was to make “world music,” that is, stuff the WHOLE WORLD could enjoy. And guess what? This will get spun from Anchorage to Santiago, from Honolulu to Sydney, and EVERY CORNER IN BETWEEN.
Can’t be mad at him for PROGRESSION…And if you prefer the old him, you can still buy his old albums-he gets paid off these too!
akon is a sing which takes the heart of every hip hopper and we all love him if he does well, we are really proud & happy with him if don’t do well it okay he will come with a bigger thing next time and will shake & rock its fans this song was not good so what we can’t be unhappy, we need to be happy from inside for our akon that he made this song for us
Akon is a good Singer but he needs to do stuff like on the freedom album the old stuff is to much rap and the new dance stuff is to euro/techno his freedom album was the best thats where he should stay.
This is normal for most artists, they have 2 or 3 songs that are mainstream sounding so they can release them as singles, thats why it sounds like every other song. It will be a Top 10 hit no questions. Where as songs like Time Is Money is classic but probably wont see any playtime on the radios.
