Brandy stepped into her dancing shoes on the two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars.” The singer-actress gracefully worked her way through the Viennese Waltz with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy while her mom, daughter, and brother Ray J cheered from the audience. Her moves impressed the judges, who awarded the excited star a 23/30 score.

“What an amazing night!” tweeted Brandy after the show. “I really did something else that I was terrified to do! Thank you to my family and friends/fans 4 their support! WOW!”

One of Oprah’s favorite musicians, John Legend, performed one of her favorite songs, “Wake Up Everybody,” on Monday’s show. Legend uplifted the studio audience, along with his collaborators The Roots, as part of a program dedicated to education reform.

The soul man will release his ’60s and ’70s covers album Wake Up! tomorrow before making an encore appearance on Friday to sing “Shine,” the theme from the documentary Waiting for Superman.

Brick City’s Redman is back on his solo grizzly with the release of the Illmind-produced “Fly,” the street single off his seventh studio album Reggie (Dec. 7). The Auto-Tuned track, boasting a blinding beat packed with Euro-synths, sees the 40-year-old MC justifying his veteran status: “I ain’t rich, but I’m rich off of respect/ You keep listening, ya never hit the eject.”

M.I.A. continues to go viral in the dizzying video for “Story to Be Told,” fresh off her third album /\/\/\Y/\. Premiered on her new website yesthelittlepeoplewillneverwinbuttheycanfuckshitup.com (try typing that on your iPhone), the clip sees the Sri Lankan singer taking lyrics of the song and putting them in the style of Captcha, fading them into the background as the track progresses.

Maya, who’s recently been in the studio with Kanye West, will kick off her North American tour tomorrow in Montreal, Canada, with opening act Rye Rye. Click here for dates.

Faith Evans goes through hard times in the video for “Gone Already,” the lead single off her first album in five years, Something About Faith. The First Lady hits the stage to sing to an empty audience about coping with a broken heart as mimes sign behind her, while clips of Faith fighting with her man are interspersed between performance footage.
