Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler Join ‘American Idol’ Judges Panel![]() It’s official. After weeks of speculation on who would be next to join the judging panel on “American Idol,” Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler have signed on to judge the reality show competition alongside Randy Jackson on the 10th season of the show.
Following the departure of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi, Fox announced its new trio of judges during a live press conference from The Forum in Los Angeles, with Interscope Geffen A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine slated to appear as a mentor to contestants. “I’m looking for the next Michael Jackson,” an excited J.Lo said after being introduced by Ryan Seacrest at The Forum. “We’re looking for the best ‘American Idol’ ever.” The official announcement comes after Lopez signed on to judge for a reported $12 million last week. Other rumored possibilities for judges included Chris Isaak, Shania Twain, Harry Connick Jr., and Elton John. TweetYou can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 11 CommentsLeave a Reply

I mean, come on now, if bringing in Ellen Degeneres didn’t lose enough credential for the show – what makes them think that J.Lo would suit the bill? Yes, she’s beautiful. But she can barely carry a tune if you handed it to her in a bucket. Nor does she write OR produce any of her material, which, by the way, have mostly been mediocre at best.

listen i am not even a big J.Lo fan but stop downing this girl like she hasn’t done anything for the industry. i’m sure everyone at some point enjoyed a movie she was in or danced to a song she’s had on the radio. she has made a significant impact on the entertainment industry and tends to tour very well just like others who don’t write or sing well. i can name one SUPERSTAR in general and her respect was earned just like J.LO.

i’m glad i’m not the only one who thinks that this show is over. that’s the problem, people don’t know when to stop a good thing. the last couple seasons have been forgettable. this one will be no different.

My god, this panel looks a mess. I love J.Lo but this just isn’t for her. This needs to be AI’s last season.
