MTV celebrated the debut of its new daily show “The Seven” on Monday with in-studio guests Drake and Justin Timberlake, plus Lil Wayne, who called up the network on his 28th birthday for an interview from Rikers Island.
Never one to stop hustling even behind bars, Weezy plugged his new album I Am Not a Human Being, which arrived at digital retailers today. “I just looked in the mirror, plain and simple. I still be looking in the mirror trying to figure it out myself,” he said of his latest project’s title. “The album was totally fun, because I love recording. That’s what I love to do next to breathing, so I made sure I had some material before I came in here to release while I was in here. Fans have been more than unbelievable.”
Mr. Carter, who gets around 150 pieces of fan mail every day and reads one-fifth of what he receives, also shared that he can’t wait to hug his kids when he gets released from the clink in early November. Plus, he surprised his Young Money fam Drake, who stopped by the studio as one of the live show’s first guests.
“I miss y’all too. What’s this I hear about you marrying Snooki?” Weezy asked Drake, referring to a videotaped love letter from “Jersey Shore” star Snooki, who joked that if they dated they would be called “Dooki.” Drizzy wished his big brother a happy birthday before Wayne signed off.
