Rap-Up.com || Ladies Unite at Black Girls Rock! Awards

It was ladies’ night at the 5th Annual Black Girls Rock! Awards at the Paradise Theater in New York City’s Bronx borough on Saturday (Oct. 16). Founded by DJ Beverly Bond, the evening honored successful African-American women for their achievements and for being positive role models in their communities. The event, which will be televised for the first time next month, was hosted by actress Nia Long.

Presenters and performers such as Keyshia Cole, Monica, Ciara, Keri Hilson, Fantasia, Estelle, Shontelle, Jill Scott, and Marsha Ambrosius helped pay homage to honorees including Keke Palmer, Raven-Symoné, Ruby Dee, and Missy Elliott, who was presented with her second Visionary Award by collaborator Ciara. “Thank u @ciara u are truely a best friend!!” Missy tweeted at CiCi following the taping.

there’s nothing and there will be nothing between beyoncé and cira, so u people stop saying all sorts of words that are not necessary.

I’m not a fan of ciara neither beyoncé but just for the sake of respect and peace.ciara knows that beyoncé is her big sister and also can be her mentor.so, pls stop invoking trouble or problem.

Ciara is good and Beyonce is bad? I’m afraid some of you may have missed the point of this CELEBRATION. It was “Black girls rock”! It was meant to about uplifting and celebrating being a black women/girls. It was certainly not meant to be a competition. If we can’t embrace something as simple as this then shame on us.

I love all the sisters who are listed as performers. For some I love one song for others I love every song it doesn’t matter. Let’s remember that all black girls young and old rock! Let’s stopping taking every opportunity to be negative and try to embrace the positive whenever possible! And don’t forget we really do rock:)
