El DeBarge

El DeBarge is on the road to a comeback, gearing up for the release of his fifth solo album Second Chance and touring the nation with Mary J. Blige. In anticipation of his LP’s November 30 release, the 49-year-old performed the title track off the album on the “KTLA Morning Show,” also manning the keys for an additional acoustic rendition of his classic “All This Love.”

“Yeah, I’ve been out of the limelight picture for a while. But I’m back with my second chance, doing it better than ever,” said the former DeBarge member.

“I was on vacation. I was just trying to pull myself together from some long, distracting mishaps,” he added with a laugh. “By the grace of God, I still have my chops.”

The singer-songwriter also shared his excitement to be back on the road. “Music is its own reward, but it’s a whole different kind of reward when you get the love generating back and forth from your fans,” he said, “and I really appreciate it.”
