Heavy on the acting grind, 50 Cent is teaming up with the big dogs for his next on-screen venture. The rapper-turned-actor, who proved his dedication to character after losing 60 pounds for his role in Things Fall Apart, will star opposite one of Hollywood’s leading ladies in a new film.

50 has joined the cast of the ensemble drama Lives of the Saints, co-starring Meg Ryan, John Lithgow, Joe Anderson, and Kat Dennings, reports Variety.

Written and directed by Chris Rossi, the film tells the story of “a group of Angelenos seeking redemption for past mistakes, only to find that forgiveness comes from unlikely places.” The flick, which begins shooting in Los Angeles on November 13, also features Kevin Zegers, Anthony Anderson, and Esai Morales.

The music mogul most recently made moves in Hollywood after securing $200 million in funding for his company Cheetah Vision for a 10-picture deal. Next he is set to star in Jekyll and Hyde, Morning Glory, and Vengeance.
