New Music: Lupe Fiasco - 'The Show Goes On'

The Show Goes On

After going to war with his label Atlantic Records over releasing his third album Lasers and securing a March 8, 2011 release, Lupe Fiasco debuted his Kane Beatz-produced first single “The Show Goes On” on Ustream.

Kicking off with a busy electric guitar melody, the song gives way to a sing-song chorus about partying all night until the sun goes up. “Already the show goes on all night/ ‘Til the morning we dream so long,” goes the chorus. “If you are my homeboy, you never have to pay me/ Go and put your hands up, when times get hard you stand up,” raps Lupe on the ebullient tune.
