Wyclef Jean Preps ‘Haitian Experience’ EP for December

Wyclef Jean

Today may be Election Day, but Wyclef Jean is stretching out his interest in politics to the end of the year. The Haitian singer-songwriter is readying the digital release of a political six-song EP If I Were President: My Haitian Experience, due December 7.

The new collection of tracks, co-executive produced by Wyclef and his brother Sedeck, has already spawned the single “Election Time,” for which Jean co-directed a video in his native Haiti with director Steve Halloun.

“I have to show all the sides of Haiti,” Clef says of the clip. “There is still beauty in Haiti and I have to show the beauty and the ugly reality that is going to change. It will change.”

The former presidential hopeful also plans to embark on a world tour in 2011, bringing his homeland to the four corners of the world.

Most countries have restrictions on who can lead, I understand this. However haiti is so corrupt, in such a total shamble that the people of haiti deserve someone outside of their elite to bring some change for their people. Things are only going to get worse, they have no hope revolution and civil war are the only natural result of all the corruption, poverty, and violence. When the island erupts I just pray that the people will finally get justice and be able to live stable lives.
