Rap-Up.com || Tracklisting: Ciara – ‘Basic Instinct’

Ciara follows her Basic Instinct on the tracklisting for her fourth album, hitting stores December 14. The 11-track set features the Ludacris-assisted single “Ride,” sensual “Speechless,” and dance floor-ready “Gimmie Dat,” plus a collaboration with her labelmate Usher (“Turn It Up”). Tricky Stewart and The-Dream serve as executive producers.

“Now it’s time to go back, it’s time to throw on my sneakers, it’s time to just really get bossy for a couple of seconds,” CiCi previously told Rap-Up.com of Instinct, which marks a return to her roots.

So at least half the record has leaked/been released already (Basic Instinct, Ride, Gimme Dat, Speechless, Turn it Up, and I’m sure I’m missing one).

You’d think it happening to her once would make her/her people that much more cautious about it for the next release, but I guess not.

I have to say I’m a little dissapointed,the fans have been waiting for a while and all we get is 11 tracks, 6 of which we have heard already. I remember when Ciara said the album was delayed because of the “surge of new material”. What “surge” was that ? I was just expecting a lot more, I thought this would possibly be her best album but I’m not so sure anymore. From the snippets I’ve heard most of the album is mid-tempo also. I will always support my fave no matter what but some things just needed to change this era and they didn’t. See promotion,marketing

I’m sure I’ll love it as I do everythig she does, I hate to come off negative but I’m just telling it like it is, hopefully she sells well. Im sure the deluxe will make it 13 tracks… which i dont mind. but i still feel like this album wasnt handled properly. it had a good start but then the label started treating it like a Fantasy Ride Pt. 2….

i wouldnt be surprised if it sold the same amount either. i still love and support her tho. she just needs to make the RIGHT choices.

Can’t wait to get this album, its hard being excited when you heard half the album but that’s our fault in a way because once a song leaks we don’t have to click on it and listen to it, I’d rather read about it than play it but its just so hard not to hear tracks by your favorite artist.

I must say I’m slightly disappointed. The SAME EXACT thing is happening with this album that happened to “Fantasy Ride.” More than half of these songs have leaked and I don’t think people will be interested in buying this. But whatever, Ciara’s my b**** so I will still buy it. I loved some of the snippets that they played on 106 & Park last night. Oh, and I wish “Get It Girl” and “Shut Em’ Up” would be included. I thought her label would’ve learned from their mistakes. YIKES…

Why are peopel saying this is gonna flop? There IS hype around it and “Ride” was a hit to her core fanbase, which Fantasy Ride was too pop and her fanbase didn’t buy it.

With Fantasy Ride, there were 2 new songs, and with Basic Instinct there are 5 new songs, so dont compare the two albums.

& if the album does flop, that shouldnt stop you from buying it and Ciara will still be WAY richer than you, so I dont get the point of bringing that up.

I personally wished I would’ve never listened to the leaks, now there’s harshly any new songs for me to listen to. LMFAO. I hope that this isn’t the final tracklisting. A lot of songs she mentioned that were supposedly suppose to be on the album (Get It Girl, Flaws, Blauw, etc.) didn’t make the tracklisting, which leaves me suspicous. Plus there’s hardly any new material to listen to. We’ve heard 4 due to single releases/video releases, 2 due to leaks. This leaves only 5 new tracks. That’s less than half the album. I mean, I’m still getting the album regardless, but I think we all would love for some new unheard tracks to overcome the songs we’ve already heard percentage wide. Hope there will be a deluxe edition that gives me 2 or 3 new tracks though.

I just listened to I run It and Whats For Dinner and gotta say those songs are fire but keeping it 100 here this album is most likely gonna flop. i could be wrong but Gimme That and Speechless have not made any impact on the billboard charts. Ciara needs that BIG hit in order for this album to sell.

@yellie Rihfund may be more relevant and famous than Ciara, but she sure ain’t more talented. But then again, it ain’t that hard to be more talented than Rihjection.

I’m pretty certain that Ciara is going to ‘flop’. She doesn’t get the same amount of treatment as an artist like Rihdoritos or Katy Perry do. But don’t forget that those artists are also a flop in their own way. I mean, seriously? Have you seen their album and tour sales? Gaga has sold more albums and tour tickets than Rihfivehead and Katy (probably combined. Lol) in a shorter period of time. How sad.

I’d rather have Ciara ‘flop’ than give us mediocre live performances (what it really should be about, because nowadays everyone can ‘sing’) and be second best to Lady Gaga like Rihfund and Katy.

Jive was smart not to give ciara more than 11 tracks on this album cause there gonna be losing money either way. This album is not gonna do good numbers it will sell between 80-120,000 copies. Remember Rihannas last album (Rated R did 187,000 copies and that was still with a lot of promo. Basic Instinct will leak atleast 2 weeks before its released so thats really gonna hurt Ciaras first week sales. Artists that flop now only make there big money off of touring and endorsements. Ciara you might as well get into acting cause this aint gonna work out for u. Wish u the best of luck though.

Even if this is the real tracklisting I wouldn’t be surprised if Ciara tried to get more than 11 songs on there. It’s all about label politics…remember in an interview Monica said that music labels give their artists a limit of how many songs they can put on an album and for her it’s always 10. Nicki Minaj just said on 106 & Park that she had “to fight” to get more songs on her album and her label agreed that she could have a standard and deluxe edition with more songs. So whatever, take it as it is I guess…

i’m really excited even though it has only 11 songs. i am confident that gimmie dat will do well on the charts and create some hype. go and request it on your radio! this album is going to be great and i’m positive it’ll do better than Fantasy Ride. ;)

there is going to be a deluxe edition because at the listening party, she revealed two extra tracks called Love How We Do It and Keep ‘Em Ready and Flaws and Gifted may also be on the deluxe edition but she’s not 100% sure about those too. And for the all the people saying why is there only 11 songs, we waited over 4 years for Monica to release Still Standing and it has just 10 songs. And for all the people saying they’ve heard 6 outta the 11 songs, that’s your own fault for listening to leaks. I only 7 songs to look foward too because I’ve only heard Ride, Speechless, Gimme Dat and U Got Me. Basic Instinct in stores 12-14-10
