Jay-Z launched his new memoir Decoded at the New York Public Library on Monday evening (Nov. 14). The music mogul sat down with Cornel West and Paul Holdengräber for a discussion and signing. Entertainment Weekly gave the book an A-, calling it “Shawn Carter’s most honest airing of the experiences he drew on to create the mythic figure of Jay-Z.”
One of Andy Warhol’s Rorschach paintings is pictured on the front cover. The inkblot was cleared by the Warhol Estate in only one day. “I was very happy about that,” said Jay, who has a Rorschach hanging over the fireplace in his living room.
