Dawn and Kalenna See Solo Careers, More Dirty Money Albums in the Future![]() Their first album hasn’t even dropped yet, but Diddy and his Dirty Money crew have no plans of stopping. Dawn and Kalenna share their plans for the future with Rap-Up.com, which includes solo careers and more group albums.
“Puff definitely put it out there that Dirty Money was the focal point, but he also sees a future for both of us as solo artists,” Dawn tells Rap-Up.com. “This is what we created for ourselves and I think we’ll be proud of each other after we go on and do the things we do.” But although they may eventually go their separate ways, they will always remain Dirty Money. “I think that’s why people should really get excited for this movement because it’s definitely planned to be going on way after this first album,” says the former Danity Kane member. “I think we kiddin’ ourselves when we think it’s just one. It’s gonna be like 12 Dirty Money joints. We gonna be 78 in Vegas.” Her groupmate Kalenna agrees, adding, “We recorded 1,000 songs. We gonna be right at the Colosseum.” You can get a peak into their bright future by listening to snippets from their first album Last Train to Paris, due December 14. I am so ready for this album. I’m definitely buying it to show my support.
This is a really progressive group for hip-hop/R&B. I am sure it will be underrated and under-appreciated, unfortunately.

Out of 1,000 songs they recorded… Diddy just had to get features on most of their album. SMH, I thought Dirty Money was a three member group. From the looks of things it’s just Diddy & his musical guest. So dissapointed not in the music, because its okay, but in Diddy who cant seem to get it right at times.

I agree with you @PONYO about getting attached to something Diddy related and it just dissappearing. I know what this Dirty Money thing is, so Im okay with it. Plus Im already down for Dawn and that aint changing. As for Kalenna she’s is alright with me I like and will support her solo career.
Did you know that there is suppose to be another Making The Band? Now, that is something I refuse to get emotionally attached to, I WILL NOT be heartbroken again… not blaming Diddy just the situation itself.

She probably said the same thing about Danity Kane. Anything Diddy/Bad Boy related does not last and its him and you two, not an equal group. Aside from that, there is no interest in this album whatsoever

Dawn said she was working on a solo album the longest. With the right management team first and radio friendly music Dawn can go maybe 5 albums deep into her solo career. If I was her I would getting my management team name out there because right now she’s hot with Dirty Money and many people are anticipating her solo album, especially when Necole Bitchie mention Dawn should go so after Dirty Money AMA awards twitter was going crazy and agreed with Necole.
In the future I would like to see some acting from her, after watching Keri Hilson video I see acting in Dawns future.

I hope Dawn learns soon…

@cameraman and were is d.woods at now? #no shade. i think. Anyway yeah last train to paris is hot. And i know dawn and kalenna will be successful they known across the globe now even if ppl dont know their names yet they know their faces. I can thank diddy for that cuz they are getting esposure. I will support both careers and lttp on 12-14-10

December 1st, 2010 at 4:54 pm
so what exactly does D.Woods have control of now? bwahaha…If they were smart, they would have done one more Danity Kane cd and used that to launch solo careers, but they let jealousy and cattiness get in the way. Dawn was smart to keep her job. She is getting exposure! She couldn’t buy this type of exposure. No matter what folks think about Dawn and Kalenna, they seized an opportunity and hopefully they will run with it. They are very talented women, and let’s be honest, if you were trying to make it in the music industry and THIS was the opportunity that presented itself, ya’ll would be aboard the “Last Train to Paris” too…quit playing! :-)
I wish these women all the luck in the world. Any woman working hard to make her dreams come true in a respectable and positive manner, I’m applauding! Go on girls! *applause*

Round of applause for Keisha’s comments. I’m a Dawn fan and I wasn’t really thrilled about this whole Dirty Money thing but I started looking at all the exposure Dawn was getting and how she is getting to meet people and perform for audiences that she may have not been able to perform for without Diddy’s connections. Dirty Money/LTTP is the perfect springboard into Dawn’s solo career. People can say what they will about Diddy but let auditions for another Making The band be announced and see how many thousands show up for their shot at “stardom”.

Dawn had 2 choice…stay with diddy or leave and have no career like the other girls. She did the right thing. In the end she will have her chance at her solo career, i just hope its soon

is dawn writing some of these comments lol, no one is checking for her except her 4 stans. A lot of artists get exposure and still don’t get massive fame. What happened to dawn’s writing career. Her stans swear she was a beast with a pen, but she hasn’t written for nobody, why waste the talent lol… why was my comment about her being ugly too erased!

@Shhh to answer your question Dawn is writing on majority of the songs for Last Train to Paris and she wrote Loving you no more with Drake. She’s not big like the Neyos but Loving you no more was great writing and she got a new video on YouTube called Breaking Record she wrote and it’s for her solo album. Everybody search “Dawn Richard – Broken Record” and she singing live; it will blow your ears away in a good way.

@Sean Drake didn’t write “Loving You No More”. Sean Garrett wrote it.
I’m feeling simplistic, so I’ll just keep this simple and brief: Diddy, Dawn, and Kalenna travel around the globe, express themselves freely, and live their dreams. It requires tremendous courage and sacrifice.
It’s PROMOTIONAL every single time you discuss them, regardless whether it’s positive or negative. It’s not detrimental at all – you’re HELPING them. To all the CORNEILA PRIZMETALS, that invest energy into criticizing and critiquing, instead of finding and living YOUR purpose. THANK YOU!
“Hi, Corneila! How are you doing, sweetie?!” YOU’RE ON THE SOFA, AND THEY’RE ON THE T.V.!

You say no one is checking for Dawn except for her 4 stans. Well I just checked her twitter page and she has 197,000+ followers on twitter. So at least 197,000+ people are keeping up with what she’s doing. Also, if your check her solo songs on youtube she has a good number of views for her videos. I assume your comment was an attempt at sarcasm but obviously there are quite a few people checking for Dawn. To my knowledge, Dawn has written for a few artists. She has also done features for a few artists. Check her out on “KISS” from Nelly’s new album.

BLAH BLAH BLAH lol..how do you know people are on the sofa lol. I hate when people make the assumption that if you aren’t on tv, your life isnt fulfilling. it me with sumthing different..not everyone wants to be an entertainer, that life isn’t all that glamrous Roger that

It seems this is a classic case of the old adage: a hit dog will holler. I deem it logical to presume I’ve struck a nerve. I wasn’t implying everyone wanted to be an entertainer. It never ceases to amaze me, though — those who can dissect EVERYONE ELSE with such scientific clarity — usually do so on the BENCH from the SIDELINES. The “television pun” was in reference to what I call “the Corneila Prinzmetal syndrome.” Go take another gander at Willy Wonka, and it ought to register what I mean by that.
I fail to comprehend how people say things like “no one is checking for them” — yet somehow they’ve seemed to effortlessly garner your attention. It’s valuable time out of life that you’ll never get back, just by reading this and replying to it. If they really don’t matter to you – they’d simply cease to exist.
I’m not obligated to defend them, because they’re living their dreams — live yours.

Dawn is highly talented, & its good that she kept her job at Bad Boy, but as far as exposure is going, shes being exposed as the dumb girl that stuck with Diddy to be his back-up singer. Not to continue to bring up Danity Kane but those girls saw actual success now they’re all a lost cause with the exception of Aubrey & Dawn.
Dawn should have left when Drea was fired & they could’ve had that band on a different label still making KILLER music. But she settled for less stuck with Diddy and Dirty Money isn’t seeing as much chart success as it had hoped. But i mean big ups to Dawn for trying and being piggybacked but Aubrey is doing shit on her own. Shes a boss lmao

blah blah blah again lol, hit me with some new new. well you say dawn is getting my attention and you pretty much are saying I can ignore her right? Well, can’t you just ignore me too LOL. After all, I’m not living my dreams, so why worry about comments about her that isn’t positive. Instead of writing me, you can be watching a Dawn youtube video or something LMFAO. Roger!

It seems like every group Diddy creates they don’t ever last first “Da Band, then Danity Kane, and I havent heard shit from Day 26″ DIDDY IS FOR HIS-SELF. So, I hope Dawn and Kelanna start saving their money while they can and be prepared when Diddy ends this group. Besides Dawn and Kalenna voices are great enough to be SOLO artists.
