Melanie Fiona bares her soul on “Gone and Never Coming Back,” a cut expected to make her 2011 sophomore album The MF Life. Originally debuted at a gig earlier this week in London, the song explodes from a piano-laced slow jam to a power ballad where she mourns over a lost relationship. “Ain’t no use in crying when you’re done like that/ Because baby, baby, you took something that I can’t get back,” she wails on the chorus.
waaaaaay better than that performance you guys posted. i knew that video didnt do her justice. i love this song. solid production & always a great vocal performance from melanie.
As always, her vocals are AMAZING. I swear this girl deserves more success. Hopefully she will continue to win over the critics with her second album and eventually win some Grammy’s. As much as I love Beyonce, I thought “It Kills Me” definitely deserved the award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance last year over “Single Ladies.” That song was more pop than R&B.
Lovin this her voice is straight fiyah!! She can do no wrong if this is any ounce of what The MF Life is going to be than it’s going to be even better than The Bridge which I love still
Now, this is REAL music. It’s a shame people are too busy raving over no-talent, meaningless “artists” like Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and Britney Spears to notice someone with REAL talent like Melanie Fiona and Jazmine Sullivan. THIS song should be #1 on the charts, not lame ass meaningless songs by Rihanna, Ke$ha, and Taylor Swift.
