Lauryn Hill Announces Winter Tour![]() Lauryn Hill is hitting the road for the new year. The Grammy-winning artist has announced a series of intimate shows, kicking off right after Christmas and running into February.
Ms. Hill, who spent much of 2010 playing festivals in the U.S. and abroad, will appear with a live band on 17 North American dates. Stops include New York’s Highline and Bowery Ballrooms, Chicago’s House of Blues, and two dates in Canada, wrapping in her homestate of New Jersey on February 4. Well aware that she “may never play venues of this size again,” some of which she “hasn’t played since the Fugees days,” the reclusive star is excited “to see her loyal supporters up close and personal again.” She will perform reworked versions of Fugees classics and hits from her breakthrough solo debut The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Tickets for the following shows are on sale now. Dec. 27 – New York, NY – Highline Ballroom You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 13 CommentsLeave a Reply

I can’t stand New York-centric tours. Or honestly, any tour that hits the typical spots (Atlanta, LA, etc.) and doesn’t at least try to touch on mid/small markets. Newsflash: there are people in small towns who love r&b music and they never get a chance to see anybody without having to drive 4-5 hours.

In a small town, there aren’t many people let alone big venues so its economics and common sense.

smart move. People in smaller markets just have to drive to the nearest big market. It wouldn’t make sense for artist to do a small market venue unless its like a college town on a college tour.

I think the point was… these venues are so small, and it’s Lauryn Hill. She can fill up venues this size almost anywhere. Why are there 8 New York/New Jersey area dates, and nothing in states like Texas where she has plenty of fans.
She could at least hit up the major West Coast cities!

I’m glad that Charlotte, NC makes the list. I wonder how much tickets are going to cost. I would deff come home on the weekend just to see her. :D

this shit is gonna be crazy!!!! I would so go, but tickets for NY are all sold out, and she would probably be 2 hours late, and do an hour show and go all prophetic on us, then start yelling some crazy shit and pack up and go home. I love lauryn hill, she made me fall in love with R&B and hip hop when I was 11, but like almost every other artist, she has changed greatly. I wish her the best, and good luck to all the lucky bastards who got tickets early!!
