« Lupe Fiasco Preps ‘Controversial’ SingleLil’ Kim Casts Convincing Nicki Minaj Look-Alike in Video »New Music: Kanye West x Jay-Z – ‘H•A•M’![]() Kanye West and Jay-Z go “H•A•M” (Hard as a Motherfu**er) on the first offering from their highly-anticipated joint album Watch the Throne. The royal pairing sees the hip-hop kings taking no prisoners over a hard-hitting, operatic production courtesy of Lex Luger. “I’m about to go H•A•M, hard as a motherfu**er, let these ni**as know who I am,” declares Kanye, before Hov goes in for the kill, rapping, “I swam waters with great whites/ Ya’ll motherfu**ers would’ve been chewed.” Is ‘Ye and Jay’s collabo worthy of the crown? Listen and tell us below.

This is tough this is going to be a good year for hip hop. They should do a remix and put eminem and nikki on it and it would really be a smash.lex is on point with the beat. And jay spazz on this but kayne was just saying shit all or the place.
[Reply]
January 11th, 2011 at 1:56 am
I kinda fux with it.
You can hear Ye & Lex fighting for ownership of the track too.
I can’t judge it off one listen but 1st impression?
Not bad. Not great but not horrible.

The song is perfect. Great beat, over pretty good rapping…..but people are too blind and to closed-minding to accept choirs singing on a rap song…..pathetic.
Very well done Kanye & Jay-Z for consciously choosing to take us seriously and giving us REAL substance.

I didn’t like See Me Now but liked everything else so I assume this will be much the same. I like that Lex is from VA but his 19 year old self needs to diversify his sound. Obviously Ye added the operatic elements. Ye’s verse was underwhelming on first listen. Hov’s flow was great old school speed rap Jay but I need to listen again for substance. Not an instant hit but it may grow on me. I’m hoping there is a third verse coming ala how a lot of the G.O.O.D. Friday records weren’t really done when we got them for free.

The raps get better and better. Kanye def needs to do a remix. Keep all the vocals the same though.

Jay is clearly the king! The maturity in his lyrics is more fulfilling then his notorious rhyme skills. It’s a good thing he sacrifices his rhymes for something more lasting, history will serve the king well.
