Kanye West and Jay-Z go “H•A•M” (Hard as a Motherfu**er) on the first offering from their highly-anticipated joint album Watch the Throne. The royal pairing sees the hip-hop kings taking no prisoners over a hard-hitting, operatic production courtesy of Lex Luger.

“I’m about to go H•A•M, hard as a motherfu**er, let these ni**as know who I am,” declares Kanye, before Hov goes in for the kill, rapping, “I swam waters with great whites/ Ya’ll motherfu**ers would’ve been chewed.”

I didn’t like See Me Now but liked everything else so I assume this will be much the same. I like that Lex is from VA but his 19 year old self needs to diversify his sound. Obviously Ye added the operatic elements. Ye’s verse was underwhelming on first listen. Hov’s flow was great old school speed rap Jay but I need to listen again for substance. Not an instant hit but it may grow on me. I’m hoping there is a third verse coming ala how a lot of the G.O.O.D. Friday records weren’t really done when we got them for free.
