Soulja Boy Believes He Deserved a Grammy

Soulja Boy

Kanye West is usually the one to cry foul when he loses an award, but Soulja Boy is claiming that he should have beat out the competition for a Grammy. The “Speakers Going Hammer” rapper recently lamented about losing to the Chi-town MC for Best Rap Song at the 2008 Grammys.

Soulja Boy, whose ubiquitous hit “Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)” was up against Yeezy’s “Good Life” featuring T-Pain, told the AP that he initially “wasn’t really thinking about it” and would “get it next year,” but is now singing a different tune. The 20-year-old star feels he “should have got that Grammy.”

He even wrote a song about it, aptly titled “Grammy,” for his third album The DeAndre Way. However, he has not been nominated for an award since his 2008 nod, while Kanye has racked up 14 trophies.
