« Usher, Bruno Mars, & Janelle Monáe Added as Grammy PerformersTracklisting: Marsha Ambrosius – ‘Late Nights & Early Mornings’ »New Music: Jennifer Hudson – ‘Where You At’ [Snippet]![]() Jennifer Hudson is ready to return to the spotlight. The Oscar and Grammy winner will release her sophomore album I Remember Me on March 22, with the first single “Where You At” written and produced by R. Kelly. Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Rich Harrison, Ne-Yo, and Stargate have contributed to the oft-delayed project, while the title track was co-written by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and is based on a poem penned by Hudson. “I’m excited about this album because it’s almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life,” said the powerhouse singer in a statement. “I’ve called it I Remember Me because of the journey I’ve been on. I’ve learned that life constantly surprises you, no matter your plans. My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can’t wait for them to hear the new album.” Listen to a 30-second snippet of “Where You At” below before it premieres in full next week. “I stood there in the freezing cold/ And I waited for ya, but you never showed/ Boy where you at?” sings J-Hud, who gets stood up on the drum-heavy tune.

This doesn’t sound like a lead single at all, more like an album cut.

@. J ., Ebonics, slang, text talk or facebook abbrevations what difference does it make, it an vocal expression of who she is & where she comes from, the southside of Chicago,so what if its not proper english, she chose those words, too bad for you that you cant relate, it actually a term of endearment of black love

R. Kelly cannot make bad music. He’s just amazing. And Jennifer cannot produce bad vocals. She’s just talented.

“generic R&b trash”, “tired boring adult contemporary r&b records”, stupid idiots. who wanna hear all that pop shit, techno garbage. & please dont say country! just r&b in another form. hokey pokey turn yourself around. just dont listen to music at all then. what the hell you think Taylor Swift is doing? I bet if she sang it you wouldnt be saying that. just because majority of blk folk sing r&b its trash. stfu

well i’ve heard the whole song and it’s wack. And R.kelly can’t write a bad song? Blacks give him too much credit it’s always the same thing with him if he’s writing for a female somebody pulled them through or somebody is doing her wrong or some over sexed bullshit. And yes jennifer is overrated because if she was that damn great of a vocalist she’d have crossed over by now like whitney and aretha did back in the day. Screaming isn’t singing people and thats exactly what jenjen does all the time
