It’s alive! In addition to appearing in an “SNL Digital Short” with The Lonely Island, Nicki Minaj participated in a skit with host Jesse Eisenberg and cast members Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah. In a parody on Blaxploitation and horror films, rap’s reigning queen plays the bride of Blackenstein, who comes to life with her own monster ‘do, attitude, and gigantic ass. Baby got backenstein!

I really hate to say this because I am trying to stay positive in 2011…HOWEVER, some of you are so simple. I can tell that Nicki has potential to be a good actress…but that skit was GARBAGE and NOT funny. I mean…it had its moments of cuteness…but it never crossed the line between “mildly entertaining” and “funny”. SNL writers are getting worse each year. I understand that the skit was a parody of blaxploitation films, which rely heavily on stereotypes…but they were obviously just reaching for straws, trying desperately to construct a skit about Nicki’s ass. Meanwhile she ends up looking like a buffoon. I know I sound all righteous and shit…but I swear I’m not. Hell, I enjoy quality coonery as much as the next man.I just get tired of people laughing at stuff that IS NOT FUNNY. SNL needs an overhaul or some shit because that was EXTRA stale.

They were doing a parody of Blaxploitation films, which were filled with black stereotypes like Coffee, Blacula, and Shaft. Therefore it was supposed to be stereotypical and over the top.

Are you kidding me? Nicki Minaj was not the funniest part of the sketch. It was Jay Pharoah (with the comment about Jewish girls) and Bill Hader (with his full moon and “Damn!” comments) that made this laugh-out-loud funny. I had tears coming out of my eyes.
