Dawn Richard steps away from Diddy-Dirty Money for a moment to focus on her solo career by releasing the mid-tempo jam “Me, Myself, & Y,” the first leak off her mixtape A Prelude to #ATELLTALEHEART. On the chugging track, the former Danity Kane member finds her independence following a romantic split.
“Did I ever love you/ ‘Cause I’m better off alone/ Me, myself, and Y/ Did I ever think you were mine?” she asks.
Gear up for the mixtape’s February 7 release by listening below and look out for the Last Train to Paris world tour in March.
this sound really doesn’t differ that drastically from that of kelly rowland & with that said, even kelly- coming from DC3 is struggling to form a solo career. hoping that more material will sway my opinion. this direction seems to forcibly progressive.
Anybody else see the irony in Dawn Richard singing about independence and self-assertion? When she had the chance to be independent and stand on her own, she refused (though D. Woods accepted).
@beacon and yea how did that work out for D.Woods? smh
C’mon Dawn did take a stand & one thing is for sure, she doing her thang
Dang but did her and Que breakup? I hope not
DAWN GOT SOME HOT ASS SONGS OUT ALREADY! PLUS ME, MYSELF, AND Y IS HOT. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED AND HER STYLE IS FLY. PEOPLE ALWAYS HATIN! WHEN THEY LIKE JUST ABOUT ANY SONG AN OVERRATED ARTIST PUTS OUT. AND SOME OF THE SHIT SOUNDS WACK! GIVE THIS GIRL HER PROPS SHIT! DAWN KEEP DOING YOUR THING FU*CK THESE HATERS! REAL TALK!
For those of y’all that don’t know, Dawn has been in the music industry for a while. She had her own solo album on iTunes before joining the cast of Making Tha Band. (Album under name; Dawn Angelique), so for those of you who wanna hear more of her work, check that out and hit up youtube, DOZENS of her songs are there, ALL of them are NICEEE.Tony, iDon’t think they have broken up. Que proposed to her via twitter sometime last year, and she didn’t respond directly, but during an interview she was asked about it and she didn’t give off the vibe of a break up.
please turn down the noise and let her sing diddy
i am european and this electronic garbage going on in america is not what we understand when we say ” electronic”
Thats german mainstream 1990ies rock guitars and a left over beat
This song is a hit!! And for those that don’t know Dawn will release her mixtape “A Tell Tale Heart” on Feb.7.2011 on her official website Dawnrichardblog.com
i love the song. one thing that i love about Dawn is that she is Versatile dawn Never do what other people are doing. if someone say they dont like the song that mean she succeeded in what she is doing those people are use to hearing the same generic stuff and probably dont open up to anything new. like dawn said “dare to be different”
