Rap-Up.com || Janet Jackson Thrills at ‘Number Ones’ Tour Opener in Manila

Janet Jackson kicked off her “Number Ones: Up Close and Personal” world tour before a sold-out crowd in Manila, Philippines, on Friday (Feb. 4). The pop icon, who last toured in 2008, delighted fans at Philippine International Convention Center with familiar fare off her greatest hits compilation Number Ones.

Opening with a medley of “Pleasure Principle,” “Control,” “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” and “Feedback,” a short-haired Miss Jackson rocked the stage in a futuristic, body-hugging outfit that accentuated her curves. She later emerged in a stunning pink gown with diamond-spiked shoulders to perform “Let’s Wait Awhile” and “Again,” closing the show with “Make Me” and “Together Again.”

As part of the 35-city global trek, the 44-year-old superstar will travel across Asia before heading to the U.S. in March and Europe in June.

I’m so glad she’s returned to touring and that the fans of Manila enjoyed themselves!

And to the above poster “Kwabena”, yes, the show is a spin-off of the Rock Witchu Tour, and right fully so. She canceled so many dates last time and she’s now picking up where she left off with an improved and enhanced version of the show.

Janet has never done an intimate concerts, so the energy in the room must be amazing to be that close to an entertainer of her stature!

She already said each show was gonna be different from each other. This is only the first show, so let’s wait a few shows before we criticize, please. And the above poster is right. Only 16 US cities saw the RWU tour, and she hasn’t toured overseas in almost 15 years, so to the world this is a brand new show. I missed the RWU tour so i’m SUPER excited now!!!

I love janet but I think their tours were betetr when she was younger,cuz she is a great singer but also a great dancer,in thoese videos the dance part it´s not so good for me..I´m still waiting for her new record D:

Wow, Janet at 43, still got the body, the moves, it’s amazing. I can’t wait, I have my ticket, and I can’t wait to go and enjoy myself. For the hater (kwabena) – Janet is a legend, she is an iconic figure in popular music, unlike these young artist of today (Puppets). Miss Jackson doesn’t have to tour another day or make another cd in her life, because she’s established, accomplished, proud, a legend and an Icon. She’s one of the highest ranking solo artist in over 3 decades, and has over 15 number ones worldwide, and is worth over 200 Million dollars. She’s a business woman, actress, author, singer, song writer, dancer and did I mention LEGEND!!! So if this is a rehash of the Rock Wit U Tour, remember, the fans have spoken, her tickets sold out within minutes of going on sell in all of the cities she’s scheduled to tour. So yes, she may not dance as hard, or sing as strong, or be as young, but as you can see, in comparisons, those dancers are in their teens and twenties and she’s got better moves than them and is keeping up with no problem at all. We love you Janet.

Not impressed with her LA show and from some one like Janet Jackson expected ALOT more. I gotta give credit to the five dancers because they were good but FIVE, really? Not much thought was put into this show and i’m very disappointed and needless to say i will not be looking for another of her shows. Sorry Janet but you were in LA and you gotta go BIG!
