New Music: Lady Gaga – ‘Born This Way’
After months of anticipation, Lady Gaga returns to secure her pop throne with “Born This Way,” the first single from her third album of the same name, due May 23. Together with producers Fernando Garibay and DJ White Shadow, the eccentric superstar creates a dance floor anthem that her mentor Elton John claims will “obliterate” Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.”
“I’m beautiful in my own way/ ‘Cause God makes no mistakes/ I’m on the right track baby/ I was born this way,” proclaims Gaga over the electro-pop track dedicated to her little monsters.

Awwwww, this was disappointing. Music, like all art, builds on itself. Yes, Gaga takes a base of pop music, BUT then she adds a layer of F**k you and heavy-bass beating funk. Yes– at some points you could do a mash up of Express Yourself and it would be seamless. But this song is NOT express yourself. This is Born this Way. And yes we were Born Superstars. GAGA!! I haven’t been impressed by a Gaga video since Bad Romance and her last decent performance was Paparazzi VMAs 2009 and now her music stinks too. Also, as much as I like the single cover, it doesn’t compliment the song AT ALL. The song is upbeat and positive yet the cover is dark and edgy. Well. I usually love Lady Gaga and her music. But i gotta admit that this song SUCKS! Probably one of the worst songs i’ve ever had the non-pleasure of listening to. Damn gaga! You can do better than that! This is crab, i’m sorry, but this is the worst peace of shit ever! When i heard it, i felt like my ears were attacked by a giant turd! I love the song. It grew on me quickly. Lol at first I was like “IDK” one hour later I was bumping it in my room singing to it. Then I was bumping it on my way to work. Last I was mumbling it at work. Listen you HATERS before you start talking crap get this , Lady Gaga writes and gives her all to her music un like all the 90% of other singers that are out there. This song was actually addressed to bullied and discriminated people, and gay and lesbian people. It was hype coz it was meant to be that way. It was meant to tell all of these people that there’s nothing wrong with them and they should be proud with themselves. You happy people who live a perfect and unscratched life surely wouldn’t respect this song. I first thought the music is just okay. But then I really LOVE the lyric. For people like me who was bullied and slandered in my entire teenage years, this song was a LIFE SAVER.
And Lady Gaga was bullied as well when she was young. Her friends called her rabbit teeth, and she just didn’t fit in. You people gotta respect that.

As someone who likes Gaga’s previous work, but yet not as mindless as the majority of her fan base, I have to say this is straight shit. I completely agree with the message of the song but lyrically this is one of the worst songs I have heard in a long time.
