Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, & Drake Live Large at Cash Money Pre-Grammy Party
Cash Money Records opened the vault—literally—at their pre-Grammy party last night. Hip-hop’s reigning crew hosted the most extravagant affair of Grammy weekend. Famed party planner Colin Cowie transformed West Hollywood venue The Lot into a bank vault boasting a gold carpet, dance floor, dollar-sign floral arrangements, lounge beds upholstered with Cash Money logos, and pillows in the shape of money bags.
Several hundred guests dined at The Vault Bistro, savoring their choice of beef short ribs, miso-glazed sea bass, lobster Cobb salad, Kurobuta pork chop, or Mediterranean-roasted Jidori chicken. Then they made their way to the dance floor before YMCMB bosses Birdman and Slim presented their stars Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj with plaques.
Jay Sean provided the evening’s live entertainment with a set including “Do You Remember,” “Down,” and his newest single “Hit the Lights,” with Kevin Rudolf accompanying him on guitar.
A cigar-puffing Weezy was seen snapping photos on his iPhone. “We gon’ have some fun in this motherfu**er,” he declared earlier in the evening. “My name is Tunechi and I’m home, biatch!”
